How LittlePins Works
Parents need information they can trust.
That’s why LittlePins isn’t just about putting as many places as possible on a map. We’re building a directory around the information that actually matters when you’re taking children out.
Where does LittlePins information come from?
Information on LittlePins can come from several sources, including:
- information researched by the LittlePins team;
- information provided by venues;
- community submissions from parents and carers;
- reviews and experiences shared by users; and
- corrections submitted by the community.
We use these sources to build and maintain the most useful directory we can.
What does “Verified” mean?
A Verified listing means that LittlePins has carried out a verification check against the information associated with that listing.
The exact nature and date of that check is shown on the relevant location where available.
Verification is designed to give you an additional level of confidence, but it is not a permanent guarantee that every detail will remain accurate.
Opening hours, prices, facilities and other information can change after a listing has been verified.
What does “Last verified” mean?
Last verified tells you when LittlePins most recently carried out its verification process for that location.
The more recent the verification, the more useful that date may be when judging how current the information is.
However, even recently verified information can change, so we recommend checking directly with the venue where a detail is particularly important.
What do Yes, No and Unsure mean?
We use simple facility answers because parents shouldn’t have to decipher paragraphs of vague information.
YES
We have information indicating that the facility or feature is available.
NO
We have information indicating that the facility or feature is not available.
UNSURE
We don’t currently have enough reliable information to say either way.
Unsure does not mean No.
We would rather tell you that we don’t know than guess and potentially give a family the wrong information.
Accessibility and SEN information
We know that accessibility and SEN information can be particularly important when choosing somewhere to visit.
LittlePins aims to make this information easier to find, but our information should not be considered a professional accessibility assessment or a guarantee that a venue will meet a child’s individual needs.
If you have specific accessibility or SEN requirements, we recommend contacting the venue before visiting.
What about reviews?
Reviews are individual experiences, not official LittlePins ratings of a venue.
Two families can visit the same place and have completely different experiences, and that’s okay.
We encourage honest, specific and respectful reviews because real experiences can provide useful context that a directory alone cannot.
How do we keep information accurate?
We don’t expect one person to keep the entire directory perfect.
Every location on LittlePins has a Suggest a correction option.
If you’ve noticed that something has changed, whether that’s a price, opening time, facility or anything else, you can tell us directly from the location page.
We’ll review corrections and update information where appropriate.
Why don’t you simply guarantee everything?
Because that wouldn’t be honest.
Businesses change their prices. Opening hours change. Facilities break. Events get cancelled. Venues change their policies.
Our aim is not to pretend that information can never change. It’s to make it as easy as possible for families to find useful information, understand how reliable it is, and tell us when something needs updating.
Our promise to parents
We want LittlePins to be:
- Useful — focused on information parents actually need.
- Honest — we’d rather say “Unsure” than make something up.
- Transparent — clear about where information comes from and what verification means.
- Community-powered — parents can help improve the information for everyone.
- Family-focused — built around helping families make better decisions about where to go.
LittlePins isn’t about claiming to know everything. It’s about helping parents find out.
If you spot something that doesn’t look right, please use Suggest a correction on the location page. It could make a real difference to the next family.
